Pandanus Candelabrum: also called the Pamaya Tree. They tend to grow on soil that has minerals brought to the surface by volcanic pipes called “Kimberlite”. They also bring diamonds to the earth’s surface. Meaning, of course, the presence of these trees could signify the presence of surface diamonds.

There’s a plant bound for extinction.

I find this a fascinating concept for world building. A plant that indicates the presence of something rare and valuable.
